Helping Leaders Move Important Work Forward
Some leadership challenges extend across teams and organizations. They show up in how people work together, how decisions get made, how change is led, and whether important priorities take hold.
Much of my career has been spent working alongside leaders and leadership teams as they navigate challenges like these. I have seen what helps good ideas gain traction and what gets in the way once they meet the realities of an organization.
This work brings that experience together with coaching and facilitation. I help leaders step back, get the right issues on the table, challenge assumptions, work through competing perspectives, and make thoughtful choices about how to move forward.
Where could greater attention make a difference in your organization?
Build a Great Team
Talent alone doesn't make a great team. Strong teams are clear about what they need to accomplish and develop the trust, candor, and ways of working that allow them to do it together.
-
The work starts with what the team needs. That might mean clarifying purpose, priorities, roles, or expectations; strengthening trust and communication; working through conflict; or addressing patterns that are limiting effectiveness. Engagements can involve coaching the team leader, coaching and facilitating the whole team, or a combination of both.
Lead Change
Change rarely unfolds exactly as planned. Even when the direction is right, leaders have to engage people, respond to resistance, maintain momentum, and adjust as the realities of the organization emerge.
-
Coaching provides a place to anticipate challenges and work through them as the change unfolds. We may explore readiness, stakeholder perspectives, alignment, resistance, communication, or momentum, while staying attentive to what the change requires of leadership along the way.
Plan Strategy
Good strategy requires leaders to get above the demands of today long enough to make clear choices about tomorrow: where the organization is going, what matters most, and where it will focus its resources and attention.
-
I coach and facilitate leaders and leadership teams through the work of developing their strategy. That might mean a comprehensive strategic planning process or a focused effort to revisit direction, explore an important strategic question, test assumptions, clarify priorities, or strengthen an existing plan. I provide the structure and facilitation to help leaders have the conversations, make the choices, and establish a direction they can own and act on.
Improve Employee Engagement
People experience an organization in large part through what happens around them every day: how they are led, whether their contribution matters, and whether the environment enables them to do their best work. Those experiences have a powerful influence on engagement.
-
Coaching can help individual leaders examine the experience they are shaping for their people and identify opportunities to strengthen it. I also work with leadership teams to make sense of employee feedback, identify patterns worth addressing, and determine where leadership practices or organizational conditions may need to change. The goal is to strengthen people's experience of work in ways that support engagement and performance.
Plan for Succession
Organizations need leadership capacity before they need a replacement. Waiting for a critical vacancy to think seriously about succession leaves too much to chance.
-
I work with leaders and leadership teams to look ahead at the capabilities the organization will need, identify critical roles and vulnerabilities, assess bench strength and potential successors, and create meaningful opportunities for emerging leaders to grow. The work can focus on succession for a particular leader or on strengthening leadership capacity more broadly.
Service Excellence
Every interaction contributes to people's experience of an organization. Delivering excellent service consistently requires clarity about the experience you want to provide and attention to the many factors that shape it.
-
I work with leaders and leadership teams to understand the experience they are providing, identify strengths and gaps, and determine where improvement will matter most. The work can draw on customer or stakeholder feedback, organizational data, and the perspectives of the people delivering the service. From there, leaders can translate what they learn into action and reinforce the standards they want the organization to sustain.
Executive & Team Facilitation
Sometimes an important meeting, offsite, or decision benefits from having someone outside the team lead the process. A neutral facilitator can help surface different perspectives, keep the conversation focused, and move the group toward greater clarity and alignment, while allowing every leader in the room to participate fully rather than manage the discussion. I work with leaders to clarify what needs to be accomplished and facilitate the conversation so the group can make good use of its time together and leave clear about what comes next.

If one of these areas is important to your organization, a conversation is a good place to start. We can talk about what you’re working toward, what’s getting in the way, and whether I might be helpful.
